Maintenance of Military Prisoners.

I attach

an estimate of the cost of Keep of each European Soldier in the Gaol . It will be seen by that that the Colony

loses $109344 a

year for every soldier confined in Gaol.

Considering that the Colony pays a large contribution to the Military Fund, it would be

only reasonable to expect that
